Utah

The Utah Educational Network (UEN) provides a wide array of educational services for teachers, students and parents. UEN is a partnership that involves Utah State Office of Education (USOE) and Utah State of Higher Education. (USHE Utah's public schools, applied technology centers, colleges, and universities all share a stake in this unique partnership. PC Week reported on UEN as part of the #1 government and technology innovator in the nation in 1999.)

The network serves more than half a million public school students and nearly 200,000 adult learners in all parts of the state. The State's web-site provides all citizens in the state with full details of its core curriculum by subject area and grade level. It gives teachers direct access to the projects and tools they need to achieve higher standards for all students. And, it provides linkages to wide array of state and community-based resources relating to education. The UEN initiative also included the creation of a 30 minute video of Utah teachers, students, legislators, administrator... discussing technology in Utah schools. All information for this grassroots effort can be found at: http://www.uen.org/techday/index.html
