Text (slide 14):
Phases of Seattle's Program: Local Flexibility Demonstration Program
Plan
It tailors the strategies to each school through a three-phase approach:
Phase
1
Review of individual school needs and use of an interdisciplinary team to
conduct a school intervention process that includes an analysis of the school's
current situation and a definition of greatest current challenges, and a
determination of next steps (analysis includes a review of achievement, mobility,
attendance, dropout and graduation rates, monitoring of at-risk factors).
Phase II
Suggest set or mix of research-based proven practices that are aligned with
the specific needs of the school (courageous conversations, mentor programs
and professional development opportunities).
Phase III
Implement and monitor the impact of chosen strategies on student performance
and modify/adjust interventions to strengthen program.
