Text (slide 10):
Benefits to a District: Local Flexibility Demonstration Program
- Provides greater flexibility in the use of the funds, less prescriptive
and assists the district to more accurately target resources and customize
instruction.
- Provides program stability by offering an approval of a five-year plan
versus annual plans.
- Facilitates the modification of program strategies and budget without
prior approval from the funding agency.
- Assists in the integration of consolidated funds with other federal programs
not included under the Local Flexibility Plan.
- Offers incentives for districts to make the hard or tough decisions relating
to the use of these federal funds, as well as strengthens
a district's will to make a difference in student performance.
- Provides evidence of strong district commitment to improving student academic
achievement for all students.
- Provides private schools with the same flexibility offered public schools
in the use of consolidated funds.
