Application Requirements: Local Flexibility Demonstration Program

  • Application Requirements
    • Submittal of a Local Flexibility Demonstration Program application.
    • Application must include baseline academic data, measurable educational goals, annual objectives and strategies to meet its goals.
    • Strategies must have substantial promise in assisting the district in meeting its adequate yearly progress (AYP) targets and in advancing the education priorities of the district.
    • Parents and other educators must be consulted and involved in the development of the district's Local-Flex Program Plan.
    • Districts must provide private school staff and students equitable participation in the programs consolidated under the Local Flexibility Plan.
  • Application Review and Approval
    • The U.S. Department of Education uses a peer review process in determining the merits of the application.
