Local-Flex Audio Interview Transcript

Jay Iman, Grants Manager from Seattle Public Schools, will explain Seattle's approach to Local-Flex via an audio interview and a PowerPoint presentation. The Local-Flex demonstration program represents another tool that Seattle Public Schools can use in combination with other tools to assist students who are at risk of not meeting state standards and to assist schools in eliminating achievement gaps in student performance.

Jay will address the following questions in his interview:

  1. Why did the Seattle Public Schools elect to apply for Local-Flex authority?
  2. What has consolidating Local-Flex funds allowed you to do that you wouldn't have been able to do otherwise?
  3. What benefits has Seattle experienced during its first year in this program?
