Jay Iman

Mr. Iman has been employed by the Seattle Public Schools for thirty-four (34) years; during this time he has served in various capacities (Program Evaluator, Program and Systems Planner, Grants and Contracts Officer, Coordinator for Board Policies and Procedures, Coordinator for District Marketing, and Grant Manager). Prior to serving in the Seattle Public Schools, he was employed by Safeco Insurance Company as a Research Analyst. Mr. Iman graduated from Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA with a major in Economics. Following two years of service in the U.S. Peace Corps in Thailand, he attended the University of California at Berkeley where he received his Masters in Business Administration. Mr. Iman attended the Seattle Public Schools as a student. Currently Mr. Iman is the Grant Procurement and Maintenance Officer where he assists the Superintendent and the Board in securing outside grant revenues (approximately $ 80 million/year) and in managing the process for implementing and operating these programs so they are operated in compliance with the stated terms and conditions of the grant programs. Mr. Iman was directly involved in the writing, development, and submittal of the District's Local Flexibility Demonstration Program as well as coordinating this initiative between the Seattle Public Schools and the State Office of Public Instruction.
