CEIL: Content Enhancement Instructional Leadership (a SERESC Project)

A workshop for middle school teachers who are looking for ways to support the math curriculum standards in their classrooms.
At SERESC in Bedford, NH
Pamela J. Buffington, PhD is a Senior Technology Associate for the Center for Professional Education at Education Development Center (EDC) in Newton, MA. Prior to coming to EDC she designed and coordinated technology facilitated professional development in the area of assessment literacy in mathematics and science at Learning Effects in Falmouth, Maine. She also worked as Technology Integration Specialist and Professional Developer at TERC where she served as Co-Director of Project MEET Institutes and Seminars, Director of Institutes for Systemic Technology Integration, and Education Chair for Leadership Institutes for Principals and Superintendents. In addition, Pam was an adjunct faculty member in the Instructional Technology Masters Program at Bridgewater State College. Prior to coming to TERC, Pam spent 18 years working in K-12 schools as Physics, Math, and Computer teacher, Computer Coordinator, and K-12 Technology Integration Specialist. Pam holds Bachelors of Science in Secondary Education with a Mathematics Major and a Physics Minor, a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in technology, and a Ph.D. in Education with a concentration in Instructional Technology.

Includes continental breakfast, lunch and certificate of attendance for 12 clock hours.
Laptops are available on site for participants to use, but you may bring your own laptop to work with at the conference if you would prefer.

Each day begins at 8:30 am with registration and continental breakfast. The speaker begins at 9:00 and concludes at 3:30 pm. Lunch is from 12:00 to 1:00 pm.
The Content Enhancement Leadership Project (CEIL) : a SERESC Project funded through the NH Department of Education. SERESC and its major CEIL partners, Plymouth State College and North Country Education Services, assist the NHDOE and school districts in helping teachers assess their needs in becoming highly qualified through the HOUSSE Process. Four areas of focus are : informing school districts and teachers about the HOUSSE Process, developing alternatives to enrich teachers’ individual professional development plans, and bringing collaborators together to help NH Teachers become Highly Qualified in terms of the No Child Left Behind Act.
NEIRTEC: NEIRTEC is the Northeast and Islands division of the Network of Regional Technology in Education Consortia, “Linking Leadership and Technology to Student Learning.”
NEIRTEC is one of ten regional technology consortia funded by the US Department of Education, and Office of Education Research and Improvement. NEIRTEC is a collaboration of Education Development Center, Inc. (EDC), TERC, Learning Innovations at WestEd, and the Education Alliance at Brown University.
