About Us

NEIRTEC focuses on helping educational leaders at the state, district, and school levels put technology to effective use in schools. NEIRTEC places a particular emphasis on the needs of schools in underserved urban and rural communities.

NEIRTEC helps educational leaders:

Learn how exemplary practices for educational technologies can improve classroom teaching and learning.
Establish effective professional development programs for the classroom integration of technology.
Assess the impact of technology on teaching and learning and use assessments to improve policies and programs.
Provide the full set of enabling conditions required for effective technology use.
Build knowledge in the field of educational technology.

NEIRTEC is a collaboration of Education Development Center, Inc. (EDC), TERC, Learning Innovations at WestEd, the Education Alliance at Brown University, and Sun Associates. NEIRTEC is one of the ten regional technology in education consortia funded by the U.S. Department of Education.
